Know what's coming
The rearview radar picks up vehicles approaching from behind up to 140 m (153 yd) away and gives you visual and audible alerts, so you can ride with peace of mind. Alerts are based on the speed of the approaching vehicle, and a radar-only mode lets you use the radar with the light switched off.
One radar, your choice of screen
Pair Varia RTL515 with a compatible Garmin Edge bike computer, your smartphone, or both. It also works with select Garmin smartwatches, which add vibration alerts on your wrist and, on some models, voice alerts.

Using your phone as the main or backup display? The Varia app shows the position and speed of approaching vehicles with graphics, tones and vibration alerts.
Works with your ride apps
On a compatible smartphone, radar alerts can appear over the maps of third-party cycling apps such as Ride with GPS.

Drivers can see the tail light in daylight from up to 1.6 km (1 mi) away, with a 220° viewing angle. Choose the mode that suits the ride:
